Nexus3C are hosting a series of Conformal Coating and Cleaning Workshops in the UK and Europe

SCH have joined the Nexus Workshops as part of a drive to educate customers in the new state of the art processes in cleaning and conformal coating.

The workshops will be held in the summer and will have companies like Zestron and SCH taking part.

Nexus3C combines the expertise of a uniquely qualified group of conformal coating and electronics material dispensing consultants focused on helping electronics manufacturing clients improve their conformal coating processes.

Conformal Coating Removal and Stripping part of Subcontract Conformal Coating Service

SCH offer a conformal coating strip and removal service for customers who want conformal coatings removed from printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Stripping of unwanted conformal coating from a PCB can be a simple process but depends on what conformal coating is to be removed or stripped, the area of coating to be removed, where the conformal coating is and the type of components on the board.

SCH specialise in removal and stripping of all conformal coatings  including Humiseal 1B31, 1B73, 1R32, 1R32A2, 1A33, 1A68, Electrolube HPA and SCC3 and Dow Corning Silicones such as 2577.

What documentation shall I send to indicate the areas that I need masking for quoting for conformal coating service ?

For masking the minimum we need to quote relatively accurately is a drawing(s) of the PCBs with masking indicated. A photograph or sample with the PCB allows us to be even more exact with our costing’s.

Using Humiseal Masking Materials for conformal coating processing ensures the most opportunity for success. Using silicone free masking tapes and dots, which do not cause conformal coating defects like de-wetting, and low ammoniated peelable latex, which does not corrosion of printed circuit boards, it is possible to mask successfully.

All my cards are ESD sensitive. Specify what ESD anti static precautions are used in the conformal coating service?

We use polyamide non silicone conformal coating tape from Humiseal. In our conformal coating service for our ESD protection we have a full ESD floor, shoes and foot straps, wrist straps, bench mats and ESD coats for our technicians.
